Manchester University Security Guards Racially Assault Student?

Two security guards are charged with racially aggravated assault by beating and assault by beating.

On November 14th 2020, two security guards allegedly racially attacked a student, grabbed him by the arm, dug their fingernails into him, put hands into his pockets, pulled out his wallet and searched his waistband.

That all happened after inforcing a new initiative to check student IDs due to a suspicion of drug dealing on campus from people outside.

The complainant said he was asked to show his ID card but the security guards didn’t believe him. He suggests the security guards were aggressive and suspected he was a drug dealer.

The incident happened on the University of Manchester campus in Fallowfield.

Both Security officers plead not guilty to the offences and were granted unconditional bail.
